Wednesday 10th April – Windsurf *** The Mannor at Felixstowe – Sunny start then cloud with some light rain.

Foil – 17.75 knot max , 16.88 knot ave, 10.35 knot hour, 15.82 knot mile, 51.89 km., 8.46 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.5.

The forecast looked promising and there was talk of heading over to Levington but the wind did not fill in until 11.30 so I decided to take a look at The Manor arriving there around midday in sunshine with some really cool wispy clouds. There was a sea angler inn the first bay so I rigged up in the second one down, I was tempted by my fin board but went with my foil which was definitely the right choice and with the SW gusting to 20 knots I rigged my 5.5 which was perfect to start with:) I had some good long runs down the coast ending up just past The Fludyers around Jacobs Ladder as the sea lumped up! The wind went patchy so I decided to head back and you had to wait for a gust to get up flying. Approaching the pier to wind eased and I had a couple of floundering runs as I struggled to get past the pier, the sun had long gone and I even got a little light rain. Matters were not helped when the tide turned and my sail was too sail to beat well against it:( I eventually made it past the pier as the wind increased and I was heading back upwind OK but it was difficult to see the swell with wet glasses and I was getting knackered so I came ashore 500m short of my van in Squiz Lane and walked back. I then drove back, parked up and headed for home and was pleasantly surprised to find Maeva and her mum at our house and was entertained by her for a couple of hours, she is confidently standing but not brave enough to take a step but it wont be long:)

I might not get any pics in the local paper these days and rarely get one on the TV weather but they seem to like me at the Spotlight in Felixstowe and In Touch magazines and was well chuffed to get six covers:)
